Marion Dutkiewicz, 96; Lifelong Berlin Resident Who Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Family

Mrs. Marion (Norton) Dutkiewicz, 96, of Berlin, CT. died peacefully on Sunday May 17, 2015.
Marion is survived by her five children, Joseph “Butch” Dutkiewicz and wife Mary-Ellen of Berlin, CT, Elizabeth “Betsy” Lapage of Melbourne, FL, Linda Thibault and husband Gilbert of Berlin, CT, Eloise Dutkiewicz-Danko of Southington, CT, and Jeffrey Dutkiewicz and wife Tricia of Berlin, CT.; eleven grandchildren, Lisa Calabretta, Carol Zesk, Wendy Campbell, Michelle Lapage, Suzanne Sherman, Cindy Hetu, Gilbert Thibault, Jennifer Danko-Mangiafico, Katie Grenier, Eric Dutkiewicz, and Alyssa Dutkiewicz. She is also survived by her thirteen great grandchildren: Tyler Calabretta, Brenden and Deven Zesk, Doug and Joseph Campbell, Brittany and William Sherman, Aleah, David, and Zack Edwards, Jordan Hetu, Darius, Jared, and Cole Mangiafico. She was also a loving godmother to her great-grandson Joseph Stephen Grenier.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Dutkiewicz; infant daughter Kathy Dutkiewicz; a sister Evelyn Norton; and grandson Michael Lapage.
Marion was born on April 13, 1919 in Berlin, Ct. to Westall and Mary Jane (Porter) Norton.

She graduated from Berlin High School. She married Joseph Dutkiewicz in 1939 and was married for 66 years.
Marion loved social gatherings and enjoyed many activities and crafts at the Berlin Senior Center. Marion was also an avid card player and enjoyed participating in a set-back league. Her greatest joy was spending time with her large family.
Marion will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and godmother.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Berlin Senior Center and the staff at Ledgecrest Convalescent for all their care and kindness.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 22, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St. Kensington. Funeral will be held on Saturday May 23, at 9:30 A.M. with a service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will followed at Maple Cemetery in Berlin.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Berlin Food Pantry and Salvation Army of New Britain, CT.
