McGee is Competing in National Library Contest; Please Help Us Win Share of $200K by Voting for McGee School!
Catherine M. McGee Middle School Seeking Community's ONLINE Votes as part of National Education Contest
McGee Middle School has entered the Follett Challenge, a $200,000 national education contest, hoping for a chance to win one of the 13 prizes that will be awarded to recognize the best in K-12 innovation. Along with submitting an online application, McGee created a short video highlighting the ways in which the staff collaborates to motivate students to read. Twenty percent of the total score will be based on how we share the highlights of our programs through our video and the number of votes we receive.
Ten of the 13 total prizes, valued at $8,000 each, are from the People’s Choice category and will solely be based on how many votes are received from the public. Video voting began Monday, January 23 and McGee Middle School is currently in 3rd place! Please take a moment to vote for our video at www.follettchallenge.com and search for McGee.
The video showcases the ways in which the McGee Library, teachers and staff work to motivate students to read. From our summer reading program to book tasting events to school-wide contests, such as March Madness, the library collaborates to promote and support literacy.
