Motorists Box In Driver From Berlin Accused of Being High On I-84

A woman suspected of driving on I-84 while high on heroin in Vernon was surrounded by other drivers until state police arrived.

VERNON, CT β€” A woman suspected of driving on Interstate-84 while high on heroin was surrounded by other drivers until state police arrived and she was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence, a report indicates.

The incident involving 41-year-old Berlin resident Kimberly Timbrell took place at 2:07 p.m. on Saturday, state police said. Several motorists called 911 to report a black BWM moving erratically on the eastbound lanes near Exit 65, according to a report.

When troopers caught up the car, it was on the center grass median with several drivers positioned around it to prevent Timbrell from leaving the scene, according to a report.

She showed signs of being "under the influence of opioids," according to a report. State police said 10 bags of suspected heroin were located in the vehicle.

A passing ambulance crew stopped and revived Timbrell, who had passed out, according to a report. She was taken to Rockville General Hospital and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to drive upon right and driving while under suspension, according to a report. She has an Oct. 30 court date.
