New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart Wins Reelection
Stewart won a fifth term, defeating State Rep. Bobby Sanchez, according to unofficial results.
NEW BRITAIN, CT — Erin Stewart won a fifth term as New Britain mayor, according to multiple sources. The Republican mayor defeated Democratic State Rep. Bobby Sanchez, who made a concession call to Stewart on Tuesday night, WTNH News 8 reported.
Stewart was elected in 2013. At 26 years old, she was the youngest mayor in the city's history.
Preliminary results show Stewart received 5,318 votes, while Sanchez received 3,161 votes, according to WFSB 3-TV.
