New Sub Place Opens on the Berlin Turnpike
This new local venue will open in Newington on Wednesday.

A New York-based chain of sandwich restaurants is opening a store on the Berlin Turnpike.
DiBella’s Old-Fashioned Submarines will be opening on Wednesday, June 12, offering a simple menu of assorted sandwiches ranging from $5.99 to $10.99, The New Britain Herald reported.
“Our menu concept is simple but what we do I feel is quite special,” owner Mark Steinmetz told the newspaper.

According to the restaurant’s website, DiBella’s originally started in Rochester, NY, in 1918, and expanded to 32 stores over the past century. DiBella’s opened its first venue in Connecticut in Milford last year.
