Not So Great Escape: Berlin FD Rescues Cat On Warm Shingled Roof

BERLIN, CT — Berlin firefighters handled a different kind of rescue Wednesday after a cat apparently slipped out through an open skylight and became stranded on a roof.

The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department said Truck 9 was called Sept. 2 for a report of a cat stuck on a roof.

The cat's owner believed the animal had sneaked outside overnight through an open skylight, according to the department.

Firefighters found the cat on a ledge near the roofline and safely removed it.

"Members were able to safely remove the feline from a ledge near the roofline, and she happily returned to the indoors," the department said.

No injuries were reported.
