
Scott David Austin, 49, of New Britain, died unexpectedly at home on Jan. 21, 2012. He was the husband of Cheryl (Warren) Austin. Born in Waverly, PA, he was a former Berlin resident and a New Britain resident for the past nine years. He was formerly employed as an insurance claims adjuster for The Hartford and Middle Oak. Scott was a member of The Berlin Lions Club and Bethany Covenant Church. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl (Warren) Austin; two children, Devon Austin of Kensington and Aimi Austin of New Britain; a brother, Timothy Austin of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Sue Austin and her companion Julie Johnstone; his father, Carroll Austin of Kensington; three special aunts, Jane Nichols, Sam Nichols, and Grace Nichols; and two grandchildren, Aidan Coursey and Grace Post; his nieces and nephews, Jordan and Nathan, Jessica and Sean. He was predeceased by his mother, Ann (Nichols) Austin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., Berlin. Burial will be held privately in South Burying Ground. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bethany Covenant Church with a Lions memorial service to be held at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berlin Lions Club.
