It's not too late to show your true SVDM team colors (as long as they're orange!) at The Food Share Walk Against Hunger on Sunday, May 7 at 2 p.m. Not only will you receive a coveted, glowing St. Vincent's t-shirt, you'll also feel pretty awesome! You'll be participating in our most crucial annual fund raiser. Proceeds come back to Middletown to provide food for our soup kitchen and food pantry. (Be sure you indicate St. Vincent's when you register or give.)So please...

  • Sign up to walk, be a captain or on a team!
  • Park for free at The Hartford, 690 Asylum Avenue.
  • Meet at Liam E. McGee Memorial Park - 140 Garden Street, Hartford.
  • Stroll the 2-mile loop around Bushnell Park in Downtown Hartford and end back at the park.
  • Give even if you can't walk. Send a check payable to the Walk Against Hunger to St. Vincent de Paul Middletown, P.O. Box 398, Middletown, CT 06457, or by donating online here.

Welcome Baskets
These laundry baskets are given to a person or family moving into a new apartment. We are currently in need of at least five. If you or your group would like to fill a basket(s) please use this welcome basket list. Simply put the above items in a plastic laundry basket or a bag/box and bring them to us at 617 Main Street. Hygiene items are needed year round : mens’ and womens’ deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, razors and shave cream. Please bring them to our office at 617 Main Street, Middletown, Monday through Friday, 8 to 3.
Food You can always make a food donation to St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen: contact Lydia Brewster , 860-344-0097×15 or to Amazing Grace food pantry, contact Kathleen Kelly, 860-347-3222, for more information.
Left overs

The party’s over, but you still have good food you’d just hate to just throw away! Donate it to the the Soup Kitchen instead. You are protected under the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act and encouraged to donate of food and grocery products to us for distribution to individuals in need. Just bring the food to the Soup Kitchen, (side door) 617 Main Street, Middletown, between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. You don’t even need to call.
Other items
A number of our guests live outside…year round or spend the night in a warming shelter. Many need good, clean sleeping bags, gloves, hats (non-gender specific), and underwear. Please bring them to 617 Main St. or contact Zully Torres or (860) 344-0097 x 10 or email her at zully@svdmiddletown.org.
