Pedestrian Searching For Stolen Car Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle In New Britain: Report

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night at the intersection of Hartford Road and Village Square Drive in New Britain around 11 p.m., according to a WFSB report.

The driver remained at the scene.

Hearst Connecticut reports that Matthew Croskey was searching for his stolen car when he was struck by the vehicle. Croskey's vehicle had been stolen earlier in the evening, Hearst reports.

Three juveniles were arrested in connection with the motor vehicle theft in Manchester, Hearst reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
