The Swap Shop will open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Visitors may select any items they want on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants are asked to bring their own bags to carry items home.
Library organizers said the program is intended to help residents find formal clothing for events such as proms, weddings, galas, and other special occasions while promoting reuse within the community.
Friday’s drop-off period allows residents to bring clean, gently used formal or semi-formal clothing and accessories that are ready to be reused.
Accepted items include evening gowns, prom dresses, cocktail dresses, tuxedos, suits, dress shirts, blazers, formal shoes, ties, shawls, and small clutch bags.
Items must be in good condition and free of strong odors or damage.
Casual clothing, outerwear, undergarments, costumes, and everyday bags are not accepted.
Library staff said storage space for donations is limited and asked residents to bring items only during the designated drop-off window unless special arrangements are made in advance.
Any clothing left after the event may be used for future library programs, donated, or recycled, according to organizers.
