Sign Up Now For Early October Halloween Celebration In Berlin

BERLIN, CT — Berlin Youth Services is inviting elementary school students to combine Halloween fun with science, reading, and art at an upcoming program at the Berlin Community Center.

"Pumpkins, Potions & Spooky Creations" is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the community center, 230 Kensington Road.

The program is designed for students in grades 1 through 3.

Activities will include a read-aloud of "The Little Old Lady Who Isn't Afraid of Anything," by Linda Williams, followed by hands-on science experiments involving pumpkins.

Children will also have an opportunity to paint their own 3-D pumpkin to take home.

Organizers described the event as a morning combining "spooky fun, learning and creativity."

Space may be limited, and registration is required.
