Thousands of Mourners Expected for Wake of Berlin Teen
Berlin Police plan a detour, no parking zones to accommodate visitors for the wake of 15-year-old Tyler Cop.

Thousands of mourners of Berlin High School student Tyler Cop are expected to attend the wake Tuesday afternoon and evening, prompting Berlin Police to set up no parking zones and detours in the area of the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home.
Tyler, 15, died Thursday from a gunshot wound to the torso he suffered July 12 in an incident involving a pellet gun. His death has been ruled a homicide.
His wake will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., in the Kensington neighborhood of town.

Berlin Police advise that from 3 p.m. to approximately 10 p.m., Main Street in Kensington from Maple Street to Church Street will be one-way only. A detour pattern will be set up for all westbound traffic. Temporary βNo Parkingβ signs have been posted on Main Street. Any vehicles parked in the βNo Parkingβ zone are subject to immediate removal, police said on their Facebook page.

Arrangements have been made for two NBT shuttle buses to transport visitors to Berlin Memorial Funeral Home from the empty lot on the corner of Alling Street and Grove Hill beginning at approximately 4 p.m., according to police.
βA few thousand visitors are expected. Please be patient if stuck in traffic. If local traffic can avoid the area, it would be greatly appreciated,β police said.
