Tour Berlin To See Winning Holiday-Decorated Homes

The Town of Berlin recently announced the winners of its 2023 holiday house decorating contest, inviting folks to visit and see their work.

BERLIN, CT — The Christmas holiday weekend may be in the past, but the decorations are likely to still be up.

And in Berlin, that's a good thing, with the town recently naming its winners in the town's annual holiday house decorating contest.

Hosted by the Berlin Parks and Recreation Department, this year's event drew 19 houses registered in town.

"We enjoyed viewing the awesome entries and then trying to decide the winners. Everyone did a great job and deciding the winners was difficult," wrote Berlin Parks and Rec.

• Most Creative – The Shatos Family

• Most Colorful – The Gwozdz Family

• Most Decorated – The Thurston Family

• Classic/Traditional – The Kowalczyk Family

• Most Inflatables – The Widlak Family

• Best All White Light Display – The Holland Family

• Best Overall – The Vignone Family

• Elf’s Favorite (four) – The Valuk Family, The Mahoney Family, The Woodruff Family and The Gavallas Family

Contest organizers are suggesting folks drive around town this week and check out what these and other homes have to offer.

The following are the streets featuring contest participants: Angeli Court, Carriage Drive, Chamberlain Highway, Chestnut Lane, Crater Lane, Elizabeth Road, Four Rod Road, Galpin Lane, Grove Street, Harvest Hill, Highview Terrace, Lower Lane, Middletown Road, Oak Ridge, Robbins Road, Saw Mill Drive, Stockings Brook, Windy Knoll, and Worthington Ridge.
