Advent Blessing of the Animals – A Multigenerational Service of Celebration

Worship Leaders: Rev. Dr. Jan Carlsson-Bull with Molly Nolan and Kayla Parker

In the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, we remember the role of the animals at this season of blessing and birth, magic and miracle. Please bring your animal companions—live, photographed, stuffed teddy bears even—for this service of animal friendly songs, rare silences, attempted meditation, stories, a brief homily, and blessings of creatures great and small. Please bring them leashed or in a carrier and under your control at all times. If they are small enough to sit on a chair, bring a towel to ensure that no hair is left behind. If you’re allergic to dogs or cats, you may want to sit in the back of the sanctuary or even try another worship experience on this furry Sunday.

We will also be gifted by the presence of Another Octave, an all female vocal ensemble.
