2 Bethel Utility Projects Granted Priority Status
Bethel will be eligible for grants and/or low interest loans next year now that the projects have been added to the priority list.

The Town of Bethel received confirmation recently from the Connecticut Department of Public Health that two town utility projects have been placed on the state’s 2016 Fundable Project Priority List (PPL), according to a release.
The projects are as follows:
- Refurbishment of Maple Avenue well fields #1 and #2 in the amount of $689,000
- Replacement of the aging Hoyt’s Hill booster pump station in the amount of $1,063,836
“Both projects are of critical importance in the town’s long term capital plan to improve fire safety and water quality. The availability of funds will help offset capital improvement costs that would otherwise be covered by water department customers,” first selectman Matthew Knickerbocker said in a statement.
