200+ Apartments Floated For Former Duracell Site In Bethel: Report

Town officials discussed a potential redevelopment that could bring 200 to 250 units to the former headquarters, according to a report.

BETHEL, CT — More than 200 apartments are being discussed as part of a potential redevelopment of the former Duracell site in Bethel, according to a report.

The The News-Times reported that local officials recently floated the idea of converting the 300,000-square-foot property into a mix of residential units and commercial uses, such as medical offices or fitness amenities.

Planning and Zoning Commission Chair Michael Kozlowski said the site — once home to about 1,000 workers — is unlikely to return to traditional office or manufacturing use, and estimates suggest the building could support roughly 200 to 250 apartments, the report said.
