2nd Assembly District Rep. Allie-Brennan Running For 3rd Term
2nd Assembly District Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan issued a statement officially announcing that he is running for re-election.

BETHEL, CT — State Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan has announced he will be seeking re-election to a third term in November.
Allie-Brennan, a Democrat, represents the 2nd Assembly District which currently includes Bethel, Danbury, Newtown and Redding. Beginning Jan. 4, 2023, the Danbury and Bethel slices will expand, but the district will lose Newtown and Redding.
"Nearly 70 % of residents in the new 2nd District have already been my constituents under the current district lines, and I look forward to continuing my service representing them. I also look forward to earning the support of new constituents as I campaign for re-election across Bethel and Danbury," Allie-Brennan said in a statement released Friday.

The lawmaker's signature work has been directed against the state's opioid epidemic. He has gained a reputation as a free-thinker, locking horns with Democratic leadership on issues such as tolls, affordable housing, criminal justice reforms, and the extension of Gov. Ned Lamont's emergency powers.
"For the past three years, I have proudly served the people of the 2nd District. During that time, I have had the chance to talk and engage with thousands of neighbors and have learned, firsthand, about the issues that matter to them," Allie-Brennan said.
