Ambler Trust Awards $2,500 Grant to The Bethel Historical Society
The Bethel Historical Society received a grant from the Elizabeth Raymond Ambler Trust of Wilton. The $2,500.00 grant supports our Living History Day on June 8th. The Historical Society is very grateful for their support and their belief in what we do.
This grant will go a long way to support the day-long event, with several groups of American Revolutionary War reenactors, to bring history to life. There will be military encampments, tactical exercises, firelock shooting including a canon, competitions, camp life demonstrations, horses, a blacksmith, and social activities.

There will be music and dancing, marching, and a presentation by Patrick T. Wild, Bethel’s Town Historian. The Boy Scouts will present Passport to Bethel which will give everyone an opportunity to talk with the scouts and learn about Bethel’s unique historic structures.
As approximately 2,000 British soldiers marched through Bethel, these reenactors will recreate an authentic, high-quality experience for everyone. The grant from The Elizabeth Raymond Ambler Trust is helping to make this event possible.
