The proposed venture is seeking approval for a commercial space on Old Hawleyville Road.

The commission is scheduled to review the application during its June 23 meeting.

According to application materials, the business would offer dog grooming services including bathing, nail trims, haircuts, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, dematting and flea and tick treatments.

The proposed business would also sell pet supplies and accessories such as collars, leashes, harnesses, treats, toys and supplements.

Pretty Paws is owned and operated by a mother-daughter team: Caroline Deane, a licensed dog groomer, and Janet Deane, a former executive director of the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce.

The business plan describes Pretty Paws as a high-end dog grooming salon and boutique focused on personalized, one-on-one grooming and a "fear-free" approach designed to reduce stress for pets.

If approved, the business would operate Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and expects to serve between five and eight grooming appointments per day.
