BETHEL, CT — The Bethel Water Department will begin its annual hydrant flushing program Monday, June 8.
The 2026 program is expected to take up to six weeks to complete, according to town officials.
Residents are advised to check the color of their water before use and avoid washing clothes or using hot water when temporary discoloration is present.
If discolored water occurs, officials recommend running cold water from a bathtub faucet or outdoor spigot until the water clears.
The town said a tentative flushing schedule is available on its website and will be updated weekly throughout the program. Officials noted that the schedule is subject to change.
