CT Primary 2026: What Bethel Voters Need To Know

Bethel voters will head to the polls Tuesday for Connecticut's 2026 primary. Here are the key races, polling locations and hours to know.

BETHEL, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 11, for Connecticut's 2026 primary election, with races for governor and Congress among the contests on ballots across the state.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The biggest statewide contest is the Democratic primary for governor between incumbent Gov. Ned Lamont and state Rep. Josh Elliott of Hamden.

There is no Republican primary for governor. State Sen. Ryan Fazio is the Republican candidate for governor and will advance to the November general election.

Connecticut holds closed primaries, meaning voters generally must be registered with a political party to vote in that party's primary.

Bethel's polling locations are:

District 1: Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School St.
District 2: Stony Hill Fire House, 59 Stony Hill Road
District 3: Frank A. Berry School, 200 Whittlesey Drive
District 4: Stony Hill Fire House, 59 Stony Hill Road

Voters who aren't sure of their district should confirm their assigned polling location before heading to the polls.

Voters who are in line when polls close at 8 p.m. are allowed to cast a ballot.

What's On The Ballot In Bethel?

Bethel voters have two major primary contests, depending on their party affiliation.

Democratic voters will choose between incumbent Gov. Ned Lamont and state Rep. Josh Elliott of Hamden for the Democratic nomination for governor.

Lamont is seeking a third term as governor, while Elliott is challenging the incumbent for the Democratic nomination.

The winner of Tuesday's primary will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.

Republican voters will choose between Chris Shea and Jonathan De Barros for the Republican nomination in Connecticut's 5th Congressional District.

The winner will advance to the November general election against Democratic U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes.
