• Bethel, Brookfield Schools Receive Special Education Grant (patch.com) — Bethel schools are set to receive a share of a $500,000 state grant, awarded jointly with Brookfield, to upgrade facilities and infrastructure for special education programs. The funding, part of Connecticut's new High-Quality Special Education Incentive Grant Program, is intended to expand in-district services so more Bethel students with disabilities can learn in their own community rather than being sent out of district.
   

• Atlantic Shore shuts down Bethel 12-0 at BRWS (timesobserver.com) — Bethel's 13-year-old Babe Ruth all-stars were shut out 12-0 by Atlantic Shore, New Jersey, in World Series pool play, managing just three early singles before the game ended by mercy rule. Bethel, now 0-1, faces Puerto Rico next, giving local families and fans another chance to follow the team's run on the national stage.
