Bethel Action Committee Hosts Forum : Charter Revision - Shifting the Balance of Power?

On Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7pm, the Bethel Action Committee will hold their 3rd Public Forum - this one on the topic of Town Charter Revison.

On Tuesday, September 30th at 7pm, the Bethel Action Committee will hold a Public Forum entitled Charter Revision – Shifting the Balance of Power? at the Bethel Municipal Center. The event will take place downstairs in the Senior Center cafeteria. This is the third in a series of Public Policy Forums hosted by the BAC over the past two years.

The topic for the evening’s discussion will be the impact of the proposed Bethel Charter Revisions that will be submitted to voters at the November 4th elections.

Current and former local officials will be on hand to offer their insight and respond to questions in an informal setting. As the “Constitution” of Bethel, the Town Charter is a fundamental document, and these extensive proposed revisions merits the focus and attention of all Bethel residents.

Previous BAC Forums included Aquarion Acquisition – Boon or Boondoggle and Why Must Property Taxes Always Go Up?

The BAC’s goal for the series is to stimulate debate in an environment free of politically-charged and emotional rhetoric. In past forums, they were successful in bringing together people with different points of view and political affiliations, and have received nothing but positive feedback.
