Bethel Board of Finance Approves Budget With Slight Increase: Report
Residents have an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the budget at an upcoming public hearing.

BETHEL, CT — The Bethel Board of Finance approved its 2017-2018 Fiscal Year budget this week which totals $72.9 million, reports the News Times.
Town officials had discussed cutting the budget proposed by the Board of Selectmen, but decided against it and voted to invest in the town. The budget includes $44.3 million for schools and $28.6 million for town operations.
The 2017-2018 budget represents an increase of $1.69 million. A public hearing will be held on March 20, and the board will review the budget again before a town meeting on April 3 and a referendum on April 18.
