Bethel To Celebrate Memorial Day With Downtown Parade

Veterans groups, community organizations and residents are expected to gather for the annual tradition in downtown Bethel.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel will mark Memorial Day next weekend with its annual downtown parade honoring U.S. service members who died while serving in the military.

Hosted by the Bethel Patriotic Association, the 2026 Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for May 17 at 2 p.m., according to town officials.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Routes 53 and 302 before traveling down Greenwood Avenue, through PT Barnum Square and ending at Town Hall, where a short ceremony is planned.

Veterans groups, local organizations and community members are expected to participate in the annual tradition, which draws spectators to downtown Bethel each year over Memorial Day weekend.

Town officials also noted the St. Mary School Carnival will continue following the parade from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Town Hall lawn.
