Bethel Election Results 2018: Local Winners Announced
Results came in slowly, and brought plenty of surprises.

BETHEL, CT — Local voters went to the polls Tuesday and came home with more than a few surprises.
Democratic challenger Raghib Allie-Brennan is projected to upset Republican incumbent Will Duff for the state House District 2, the News Times is reporting. The district includes Bethel, Redding, Newtown and Danbury. The contest was a rematch: Duff narrowly defeated Allie- Brennan for the same position in 2016.
In another upset, newbie Democratic candidate Julie Kushner is projected to defeat 10-year Republican Sen. Mike McLachlan for the 24th District seat.

Over in the 26th Senatorial District, political newcomer Democrat Will Haskell has been projected the winner against five-term incumbent Republican Toni Boucher.

Republican incumbent Steve Harding is the projected winner over Democratic challenger Daniel Pearson in the race for the state House District 107 seat, the News Times reported.
