Brookfield Principal Tapped To Lead Redding School
The Redding Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Melissa Labrosciano the next RES principal during a special meeting Monday.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A Brookfield elementary school principal has been tapped to lead Redding Elementary School.
The Redding Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Melissa Labrosciano the next RES principal during a special meeting Monday.
Labrosciano has led Huckleberry Hill Elementary School for the past four years. Prior to her experience as a building principal, she served as a math specialist in Darien, and a fourth grade teacher and instructional specialist in Stamford.

The Easton-Redding-Region 9 school superintendent Jason McKinnon called Labrosciano "a strong leader who values modeling practices for teachers. She has a strong vision of successful instructional strategies and devotes time to model and support teachers."
Labrosciano was selected from a pool of over 30 applicants in a process that included direct participation from teachers, staff, parents, and administrators who all assisted in the interview process, according to a statement issued Monday evening by the Board of Education,

"Our school community has endured significant challenges over the course of the pandemic," said Chris Parkin, the chairperson of the Redding Board of Education. "I am confident that Melissa is the right person to lead RES at this critical juncture. She is an instructional leader who is dedicated to helping our students of all abilities excel.”
Labrosciano is certified in remedial reading, elementary education, and as an administrator. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Manhattanville College and a 6th year in Educational Leadership from the University of Bridgeport.
