Bethel Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped Beneath Car

First responders found the man partly conscious and alert but unable to move.

BETHEL, CT — Firefighters rescued a man trapped underneath a car Sunday afternoon.

Members of Stony Hill Fire & EMS in Bethel were dispatched following a report of a young man trapped beneath a car after the jack supporting the vehicle had failed.

First responders found the man partly conscious and alert but unable to move around 2:30 p.m. Rescue 2 deployed its Jaws of Life hydraulic spreaders and stabilization device to life the car off of the man.

"From the arrival of Rescue 2 to the completed removal of the patient was just under 4 minutes," the rescuers wrote on their Facebook page.

The man refused transport to the hospital after being evaluated by EMS on scene.
