Bethel Fitness Holds 'Biggest Loser' Contest
A Bethel personal trainer is encouraging her members to lose weight by offering a fun fitness contest with a cash prize to the winner.

Tracy DeLuise opened Bethel Fitness just last fall on Greenwood Avenue and already has a loyal group of fitness fanatics.
She is encouraging her members to lose weight by offering a fun fitness contest with a cash prize to the winner.
DeLuise created “The Biggest Loser” as a way to help members get excited about their weight loss goals and help those who may have already given up on their New Year’s resolutions. Besides being a certified personal trainer, DeLuise, a U.S. Army Veteran of Operations in Bosnia, is also a licensed massage therapist.
Originally from the Bronx, the mother of three said helping members reach their goals is her mission. Using her military training in her classes, DeLuise offers a fresh approach by combining a tough boot camp style of teaching with a bit of nurturing to motivate members.
“Here at Bethel Fitness you really feel at home. Everyone here is treated like family. Bethel Fitness is definitely welcoming and inclusive,” DeLuise said.
The Biggest Loser contest begins on March 1 and those interested in it do not have to be a member to participate. The first weigh-in will be at Bethel Fitness and Wellness Center on February 26 and February 27.
The rules are as follows:
- $5 to join
- Weekly weigh-ins (day to be determined by participant)
- If you gain weight you pay $2 to the pot
- If you stay the same weight you pay $1
- If you lose weight you pay nothing
- At the end of 6 weeks the person who loses the most will win the pot
“I’m so excited about this contest I can’t even contain myself,” she said.
