The Scouts placed the flags on the graves of the men and women who served our country at Bethel's Center Cemetery on South Street Tuesday.

Girl Scouts Troops including 50044, Daisies, Boy Scouts Troops including 54, Cub Scouts and Senior Scouts from grades K-9 were in attendance, along with their troop leaders.

Led by American Legion Post #100 veterans Richard Godfrey and Skip Clapp, the annual event honors those who have served our country. The event is organized by Wendy Wildman, Girl Scout Troop 50096 and Laura Lemire, Service Unit Manager.

Missy Grandinetti, mother of one of the Girl Scouts said, "It's very humbling to see the sea of flags on all of these gravestones of these people who died for their country. Never forget the gift they gave us and the sacrifices they made for us."
