Bethel High School Assistant Football Coach Died Unexpectedly
Coach Tom Fujitani helped to lead the Bethel Wildcats to reach the state playoffs three times.

BETHEL,CT — Bethel and Wilton High School football coach Tom Fujitani passed away unexpectedly on Saturday at the age of 73, according to The Hour.
Fujitani led the Wilton Warriors to six FCIAC division titles, one league title and two state championships, according to the paper. Fujinati was a physical education teacher, ice hockey coach and basketball coach.
Game Time in CT reported that Fujitani, a Greenwich native, joined Coach Eagen and former Wilton assistant Bruce Martin on the football staff at Bethel High School under head coach Jason Gill. He was an assistant coach for the Wildcats until his death and coached Bethel to reach the state playoffs three times.
Fujitani, who had triple bypass heart surgery in 1996 and was battling heart trouble in the months leading up to his death, died while on a fishing trip to Candlewood Lake, Game Time in CT Reported.
