Bethel Man Charged With Attacking Man in Danbury Alley: Police

A witness told police that the two men repeatedly kicked the victim in the head.

DANBURY, CT — Two men are facing assault charges after being accused of attacking a man near Ives Street Saturday afternoon, according to police

Joseph Troy Maillet, 43, of Bethel and Christopher Stiller, 39, of Danbury were arrested after being found by the Danbury Parking Authority at the Paul Mitchell School. Police say that a witness had taken photos of the suspect which later led to their arrest.

Officers responded to Ives Street to the area of the Copacabana Bar Saturday at around 2:29 p.m. to assist emergency medical services. Police found that a man had suffered a severe head injury.

The News Times, which was first to report the story, reports that a witness had told police that two men repeatedly kicked the victim in the head before fleeing the scene. The report further indicates the attack occurred in an alleyway near Ives Street.

The man was transported via ambulance to Danbury ER for evaluation, police say.

Both men were charged with assault, conspiracy to commit assault and breach of peace. Maillet is being held on a $10,000 bond and Stiller is being detained on a $50,000 bond.
