Bethel Man Wins $50K Lottery Prize

A Bethel electrician received the good kind of shock when he scanned his Lucky Links ticket for the May 28 drawing. After asking the cashier to scan his ticket, the message, “Congratulations winner $50,000” popped up on the screen.

David Caprio, a self-employed Bethel electrician said, “I saw on the CT Lottery’s Facebook page that there were two Lucky Links [top prize] winners. I just didn’t realize one of them was me!”

According to CT Lottery, the winning Lucky Links numbers on May 28 were 1 - 5 - 8 - 9 - 11 - 15 - 16 - 20. The “Quick Pick” numbers on Caprio’s ticket were a perfect match to the winning numbers drawn, which created 8 winning numbers for the game’s $50,000 top prize.

Caprio told lottery officials he plans on purchasing a new car with the money and also spoiling his nieces. He purchased his winning ticket at JB Wine & Spirits at 29 Newtown Road in Danbury. JB Wine & Spirits will receive a $500 check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Another Lucky Links ticket remains unclaimed and was sold in Fairfield County for the June 2 drawing. The winning numbers on that date were 1 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 13 - 14 - 15. Check your tickets!
