Bethel Memorial Day Hero: Alfred Quillinan

This Memorial Day week we're honoring Americans who served our country. Do you have a soldier who served? We want to hear their story!

We asked our readers to send us stories of their loved ones who served the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard or Coast Guard to honor them this Memorial Day.

  • He served in Korea for 2 years from 1958 to 1960. He did medical transport driving while in Korea. He helped get supplies to people who were injured as well as having to drive right through the line of fire as well as go to battle himself. My dad’s grandfather was the late Alfred E. Smith, Governor of New York. My father grew up in Rye, New York and is now living in Summerville, South Carolina.

Patch thanks Alfred Quillinan for his service.
