Bethel Officer Accused Of Impeding Fatal Crash Investigation Was Previously Suspended: Report

Newly obtained personnel records shed light on the officer's disciplinary history.

BETHEL, CT — A Bethel police officer charged with hindering the investigation into a fatal 2025 Shelton crash involving her brother was previously suspended without pay following a 2020 internal investigation, according to a report.

Personnel records show Officer Jessenia Beamonte received a two-day unpaid suspension after investigators found she failed to properly communicate after locating a domestic violence suspect accused of violating a protective order, delaying the police response, according to The News-Times.

Beamonte was arrested in January on charges including accessory to evading responsibility, hindering prosecution and interfering with an officer in connection with the investigation into the January 2025 crash that killed 14-year-old Chloe Ramsubhag.
