Bethel Planning and Zoning Approves Water Tank

The project is expected to cost in the neighborhood of $1.8 million.

BETHEL, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission has approved plans to install a 500,000-gallon water tank between Briar Cliff Manor and Long Meadow Lane.

The project is expected to cost in the neighborhood of $1.8 million and be funded by a state Department of Public Health loan that water customers would pay back. Residents and the state must weigh in before any final go-ahead can be given.

The tank's water supply would service residents during peak days or fire emergencies.
