Bethel Parcks and Rec Announce Details for July 4 Firecracker Race

For the 50th anniversary of the John Demille Firecracker Race, Bethel Parks & Rec is offering the original 10K and also a 5K race.

Bethel Parks and Recreation is gearing up for their 50th annual John Demille Firecracker Race to be held on the streets of downtown Bethel. For the 50th anniversary of the race, Bethel Parks & Rec is offering the original 10K and also a 5K race. All race proceeds go to local charities.

Awards will be given to the top three males and top three females in each division for the 5K and the 10K. Runners who sign up by June 20 will pay $30 for the 5K or $30 for the 10K. Shirts and race packets will be given to the first 500 registered runners. Shirts will be given to the first 100 mini runners. A Woodbridge Running Company gift certificate will be given to the top finishers in each category for the 5K race only.

The race will be held on July 4, 2015 at 1 School Street, Bethel, Conn. The 5K and the 10K races will be held at 9 a.m. The kids’ mini cracker run is from 8 - 8:30 a.m. and is for ages 3-9.
