Bethel PD Raising Money, Collecting Blood, for 12-Year-Old Girl

BETHEL, CT — The police are raising money, and collecting blood, for the daughter of a detective just diagnosed with bone cancer.
Maddie O'Farrell, 12, daughter of Bethel police Detective Frank O'Farrell, has recently been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, according to the department's social media.

In an effort to raise funds and awareness, the police have partnered with the Scotty Fund, a Bethel-based charity which provides financial and family support to children with life-threatening and critical illnesses and their families, and clothier Grunt Style. A portion of the sale of T-shirts (pictured above, available here) will go to the O'Farrell family to help pay for medical and other expenses.
