Sunday April 3 - REUBEN WILSON ORGAN QUARTET
with Bill Wurtzel (guitar), Ray Blue (sax), Roger Post (drums).
Organ legend Reuben Wilson was a pioneer of soul jazz in New York's 1960s jazz scene -- a groovin' sound that mixes in blues, soul, and gospel. Now 80 years old, he has a string of Blue Note albums and has worked with such fellow greats as Lee Morgan, Grant Green, Melvin Butler, and Bernard Purdie. Mr Wilson brings in a primo band for a rare night of fired-up soul-flavored jazz!

Sunday April 10 - JENNIFER GRIFFITH & ESSIET ESSIET JAZZTET
"A wonderful tapestry of musical passion" - New Music Connoisseur
A special evening: five unique artists gathered by Jennifer Griffith, a sophisticated and swinging jazz singer from Portland, Oregon. Essiet Essiet is one of jazz's most in-demand bassists (Art Blakey's Messengers, Freddie Hubbard, Abbey Lincoln, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Cedar Walton, Kenny Burrell, Jackie McLean). His Nigerian-American roots show up on his new African-flavored CD, Shona. Alberto Pibiri (Tony Bennett) is a 25-year-old piano prodigy from Italy. Sylvia Cuenca (Clark Terry, Joe Henderson) is a hard-swinging drummer from California. Special guest singer Sammi Collie is a Florida original, mentored by Chaka Khan and winning the Apollo Theater Amateur Night on his move to NYC. Great songs, sizzling music, and definitely soul! $15
Sunday April 17 - SWING DU JOUR
April in Paris! The incomparable gypsy-jazz quartet of Bethel violinist Howie Bujese (Newtown Flagpole Radio Cafe), guitarists Larry Urbon (Cafe Musette) and Norman Plankey, and bassist Eric Van Laer, playing the music of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and others. $15
