Bethel Police Arrest Man For Reckless Driving, Misuse of Plate, No License and More

The Brookfield man was stopped in a seat belt check by Bethel police when the man fled at a high rate of speed.

A twenty-six year old Brookfield man was arrested by Bethel police after fleeing a seat belt check at a high rate of speed.

Justin McCurdy, 26, of Brookfield, was stopped by Bethel police on May 22, 2015. After checking his license and registration, McCurdy fled the scene, driving recklessly through town, causing several people to call 911. According to a release, “They did not pursue him and a warrant was applied for.”

On Oct. 29, 2015, McCurdy was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to face unrelated charges of 3rd Degree Assault for a Sept. 19 incident when Bethel police arrested him, charging him with the following:

  • Engaging in Pursuit
  • Interfering with an Officer
  • Reckless Driving
  • Misuse of Plates
  • Failure to Obey a Stop Sign
  • Operating without a License
  • Failure to Wear a Seat Belt

He is due back in Danbury Superior Court on Nov. 19, 2015.
