BETHEL, CT — The town's newest police officer at last has a name.
After soliciting name suggestions for the K-9 recruit among residents on social media, the Bethel Police Department has selected "Rebel."
The 16 month-old German Shepherd was named in part to honor the Prince George’s County Police Department's K-9 Rebel, who was the first K-9 to give his life in the line of service for that agency, according to a BPD Facebook post.
