Bethel Police Seek Accreditation

The Department is voluntarily submitting to a third-party evaluation, and public input is invited.

BETHEL, CT — The police department has announced it is voluntarily submitting to an accreditation process.

The process is administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, and requires agencies to comply with best practice standards.

Assessors from CALEA will be on site at the Bethel Police Headquarters June 24-26, evaluating the PD in the areas of policy and procedures; administration; operations and support services.

Residents have been invited to participate in the process, by attending a public information on Tuesday, June 25, beginning at 5 p.m. at the station. Public input may also be provided by calling 203-744-7900 (ext 128) from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, and in writing to calea@calea.org or the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies at 13575 Heathcote Boulevard Suite 320 in Gainseville, Va.
