Bethel Public Library Announces Open Mic Poetry Event

The library will celebrate National Poetry Month by holding a coffeehouse-style poetry reading and open mic night on Wednesday, April 27.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Bethel Public Library is holding a coffeehouse-style poetry reading and open mic night on Wednesday, April 27, 6:00-8:00 pm, in the Library’s Maria Parloa Community Room.

Arrive by 6:00 pm to sign up for an open mic space, 5 minutes each, available on a first-come/first-served basis. Or just settle in with a coffee and some light refreshments to enjoy the poetry! Readings will begin at 6:15 pm. This program is geared toward adults, and not intended for children. In the spirit of the celebration, selections to be read aloud must be suitable for all ages.

Whether this is your first foray into the world of poetry, or your hundredth, we invite you to come share your own poetry, poems by your favorite poet, or just sit back and listen! Coffee will be served courtesy of Molten Java in Bethel.

Registration is required. Register online, in person at the Reference Desk, or by calling the Library at 203-794-8756 x4.
