Bethel Public Library Presents 'Katy Leary and Mark Twain'

Bethel Library will be presenting 'Katy Leary and Mark Twain' on February 6, registration is required for this event.

From Bethel Public Library: Please join us at the Bethel Public Library on Monday February 6, 6:30 pm, and hear a different kind of love story, “Katy Leary and Mark Twain.” Actress Virginia Wolf brings to life Katy Leary, the beloved maid of Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) and his family. Katy served the family for 30 years—through good times and bad—from Elmira to Hartford, around the world, and finally to Redding, CT! In this Library program, the audience will hear some of the most poignant stories about Katy’s life with the Clemens’ family.

Ms. Wolf’s presentations are highly regarded for their historical accuracy and the moving portrayals of her subjects. This evening’s performance is based on “A Lifetime with Mark Twain,” a memoir dictated by Katy Leary to Mary Lawton. This program is geared toward adults and young adults; please, no children.

Registration is required; online at www.bethellibrary.org or call 203-794- 8756 x4. Sponsored by the Friends of the Bethel Public Library and free to the public.
