Bethel Recognized As a Clean Energy Community

The Town of Bethel was recently recognized as a bronze recipient at the Clean Energy Communities Awards Ceremony.

Bethel was one of over 145 Connecticut municipalities honored on Wednesday, Oct. 14, for their participation in the nationally-recognized Clean Energy Communities program.

The program is part of an Energize Connecticut initiative that incentivizes cities and towns to support energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The Town of Bethel was recognized as a bronze recipient for “supporting energy saving improvement upgrades in town and school buildings,” according to a release, which also noted:

• 619 (9%) homes have participated in residential programs

• 129 (13%) business & municipal energy-saving projects completed

• Bethel is a C-PACE community
