Patch has collected a number of these scores and will be publishing them over the next several weeks for Bethel, Brookfield, Redding, Weston, Easton and nearby towns.

Each restaurant is scored by the local health department using a debit system. Starting at 100 points, the restaurant is debited one to four points, depending on the violations. Four point items are of most concern while a one point debit is important, but less of a concern.

Redding Health Officer Doug Hartline told Patch: “It’s important to know that a restaurant with one four point debit receiving the score of 96 can be of more concern than a 91 score from one and two point debits. Examples of four points items are improper hot and cold holding temps, food from an improper source, ill food workers, safe water source, plumbing cross connections.”
