Bethel Schools to Strut Their STEAM Stuff
The annual STEAM Expo is a massive undertaking that spans every grade from K through 12.

BETHEL, CT --- The Bethel Public Schools are hosting the second annual STEAM Expo (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:30 at Bethel High School. Students from kindergarten through grade 12 will be showcasing their learning as it relates to STEAM education.
The first such expo, held last April, was just a STEM. Assistant Superintendent Kristen Brooks says the "A" was added this year because, quite simply, "The arts teachers said, 'Hey, what about us?' And they were right!"
Brooks recounts that there were hundreds of people who attended last year's expo, and she expects crowds as big or bigger this year. "Bethel High School was pretty mobbed, the whole bottom floor and the main floor was mobbed, with projects in hallways, and classrooms. The entire gymnasium, the cafeteria, the auditorium are all used."

The keynote speaker will be Will Heher, Bethel High School teacher and owner of Sweetlife Farms, will be sharing how STEAM affects his business.
The STEAM Expo is a free event open to the community.
