Bethel Scooter Company Partners With Bridgeport Zoo

Lynx City Scooters in Bethel will be donating a portion of its Bridgeport ride revenue to Beardsley Zoo's conservation efforts

BETHEL, CT — Lynx City has announced it will be is partnering with the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport.

After securing a contract to operate their electric scooters in Connecticut’s largest city, Lynx will now be donating a portion of every ride to the zoo's wildlife and conservation efforts, said David Harvey, Lynx's COO. "During a global pandemic, many companies are struggling with expenses and local wildlife conservation organizations are no exception."

In a news release, Harvey urged companies, the public and friends of animals to follow Lynx's lead and help support the Beardsley Zoo by purchasing tickets, making donations, and renting Lynx City scooters in Bridgeport.

Zoo Director Gregg Dancho said,"One of our main missions at Beardsley is conservation. Not only are electric scooters a great way to efficiently get around an urban area but they are environmentally friendly. We very much appreciate the support of the Zoo as a leader in local wildlife conservation and, of course, we love the Lynx name."

Dancho indicated that the zoo is doing everything they can to stay connected with the community, "Our Panda cams will continue to run daily; the zoo staff is offering Distance Learning options for schools and our animal Care Specialists are creating weekly vignettes highlighting our animal residents. With the support of a zoo friend, we have created a virtual Zoo walk so all the sights and
sounds of the Zoo can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home."

Beardsley Zoo will re-open on June 1 with the following updated hours: Open 9 a.m. - noon, closed 12-1 p.m. for cleaning, open 1-4 p.m. For more information on how to help, call 203-394-6565.
