[Update] The Death of the Man Found in Putnam Park Has Been Ruled a Suicide, Identity Will Not Be Released
The state is primarily investigating this case.

According to a News Times report, Lt. Paul Vance of the state police's press office confirmed that the man's death has been ruled a suicide and his family has been contacted. The identity of the man will not be released and this case has been closed as of Saturday morning.

Capt. Robert Cedergren of the Bethel Police has confirmed that a dead body was discovered in Putnam Memorial State Park Friday morning. Cedergren also said that Connecticut's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has taken over the case.
State Police Spokesman Lt. Paul Vance said a male body was found with "self-inflicted wounds." Vance did not confirm what type of wounds they were.
