There is a parking ban during winter storms. Residents are strongly encouraged to clear the fire hydrants near their homes if it gets covered by snow during a storm in case of an emergency.

- Saturday, January 23, 2016, all Saturday activities at the Bethel Public Schools are canceled
Bethel Parks and Recreation
- Saturday, January 23, 2016, the Bethel Parks and Recreation activities are canceled
Community Events and Business Closings
- Metro North will suspend service at 4 p.m. Saturday
- Bethel Public Library is closed Saturday
- Danbury Fair will close early Saturday, at 2 p.m. Department store, and restaurant hours may vary. They will resume normal operating hours 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 24.
- The Regional YMCA is closing Saturday at 1 p.m.
- Rainy Day Paperback Exchange is closed Saturday
- Bethel Cinema is closed Saturday
- The Sycamore Drive-In is closing at 11 a.m.
- Byrd’s Books’ Origami Workshop is canceled and they are losing at 2 p.m. Saturday
- Peach Wave is closed Saturday
- Sky Zone is closing at 1 p.m. Saturday
- DMV road skills tests for license applicants are canceled for Saturday, January 23
- Saint Thomas Episcopal Church has postponed movie night until Saturday, Jan. 30
- The United Jewish Center, Danbury’s Saturday Sabbath service is canceled. Sunday religious school is canceled
- Hollandia Garden Center is closed Saturday and will reopen Sunday at 9 a.m.
